Clean catch specimen preferred. First morning voided urine preferred. Samples greater than 8 hours old may be unreliable.

Methodology
Colorimetric Reflectance/Microscopic Evaluation
Colorimetric Reflectance is performed in the clinic lab.
Microscopic evaluation is performed at the NCH lab if leukocytes, nitrites, blood, or protein is positive.
