Important Note

Specimen must arrive within 30 minutes of draw.

Specimen Type: Capillary blood-Clotted blood is not acceptable.
Container/Tube: Heparinized capillary tube

Specimen Volume: 120 µL

Collection Instructions:

1. Collect capillary blood anaerobically.

2. Expel air bubbles and plug ends-Air bubble is not acceptable.

Analyze immediately after collection.

pH Cap: 7.35-7.45

CO2 Total Cap: reference range is not established.

pCO2 Cap: 33-47 mmHg

pO2 Cap: 80-100 mmHg

O2 Sat Cap: 95-98%

Base Excess Cap: reference range is not established.

HCO3 Cap: reference range is not established.
